The Center for Teaching Excellence collaborates on organizing meetings for new faculty members (i.e., those hired in the past two years). The goal is to help core faculty members with the transition to Alliant and provide more information on their new faculty role. Topics might include teaching tips, faculty expectations and evaluation, university administrative structure and faculty governance, student services, and scholarship opportunities and resources. These meetings also provide new faculty members with an opportunity to meet peers and colleagues, talk about experiences, ask questions, seek advice, and discuss issues that arise.
